Saturday’s win over Aston Villa brought Jose Mourinho’s 250th game as Chelsea manager, and with it came his 165th win, a number taking him ahead of the late Dave Sexton.
It came in Chelsea’s 4000th ever league game, and our 2000th at home. With an early goal from Oscar to settle the nerves and later efforts from Diego Costa and Willian, the manager could not have wished for it to go much better.
And, typically, it also came with a clean sheet, just like his first game in charge against Manchester United just over a decade ago.
