Newly signed Manchester United man, Angel Di Maria led Argentina’s
riot squad in the absence of talisman, Lionel Messi as La Albiceleste
put four goals past the Germans, two of which were not replied.
Argentina took the lead in the 19th minute as Aguero finished from
five yards following a delightful cross from Di Maria, talk about a goal
made in Manchester. Di Maria was once again provider as he chipped in a
well weighted cross for fellow premier league star Erik Lamela to
volley into the net in the 4oth minute. Another premier league star,
Federico Fernandez who plays for Swansea City made it three nil in the
46th minute, not giving the Germans time to settle after the interval.
Angel Di maria finally got on the score sheet as he chipped Manuel Neuer
after a brilliant one-two with Manchester Cit right back, Zabaleta.
Three minutes after the fourth Argentine goal, Schuurle scored following
a goal scramble and in the 78th minute Gotze pulled another one back
for the Germans who played some beautiful football and would be
disappointed with the quality of their finishing.
Germany may argue that they were without Schweinsteiger and they are
still adjusting to life without Lahm but Argentina played without Messi
and Lavezzi and still managed to put in a tremendous performance.
