Juventus have won the Serie A title for three straight seasons,
losing just twice last year and racking up 102 points in the process.
That may seem like the ideal situation for any club, but The Turin side
have struggled to make an impact in European football of late, crashing
out in the group stage of the Champions League last season before losing
to Benfica in the semi-final of the Europa League.
That has led to Conte demanding improvements for his squad, and that
will almost certainly include Evra. The Manchester United defender has
reportedly asked to leave Old Trafford after the signing of Southampton
left back Luke Shaw, with the Frenchman hoping to push through a move to
Italy in order to become Juve’s new starting left back.
However, the big improvements need to come at the other end of the
pitch, and they seem to be closing in on the signing of Real Madrid
striker Alvaro Morata – and could be on the verge of completing the
signing of a player who has been labelled as ‘the next Lionel Messi’.
Juan Iturbe spent the season on loan at Verona from Porto, but after a
superb season in Serie A, they chose to buy him permanently – with the
intention of selling him on straight away for a massive profit. The
likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Roma, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and
even Premier League side Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move
to sign the 21-year-old speedster, but reports today have shown that
Juventus have won the race to sign the Argentine dubbed ‘The Next Messi ‘
A €25m (£20m) deal has been agreed up front, whilst the Turin side
will also agree to pay €2m (£1.6m) in add-ons over the course of his
stay with the club.
Iturbe is now expected to form part of a stunning three-pronged
attack for Conte’s men, alongside the aforementioned Morata and Iturbe’s
compatriot Carlos Tevez as Juve make the big moves to try and succeed
in the Champions League next season.
